Li Jianfeng
Council member of China Association of Violin and Bow Makers, East China branch.
Mr. Li was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang province in 1973, He studied violin bow-making under the direction of the well-known Chicago bowmaker- John Norwood Lee in 1999, and he established his own bow making company in 2007. Mr. Li has received strict training and refined his expertise in traditional French violin bow-making, and has always been aiming to provide the best bows for stringed- instrument players. Following in the footsteps of the traditional method is not only the routes to him ,but also he has often interacted with professional players to obtain their ideas of musical expression at different types of music works, different styles and various of music productions which required the bow details to explore and produce the best sounds that meet their requirements.
Mr. Li’s violin bows are demand around the world; he has made bows that are played by musicians at the Central Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra , Singapore Symphony Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra ,to name only a few. The prominent American violinist Elmar Oliveira also play and collect his violin bow.
Mr. Li have instructed and demonstrated bow-making methods and maintenance techniques to the participants at Shanghai International Musical Instrument Exhibition and the Guangzhou International Musical Instrument Exhibition. As an outstanding Violin Bow maker, his works played an important role behind the successful of Chinese violin bow making in the international market.
Since 2013, Mr. Li has won gold and silver medals number of times at China International Violin & Bow making Competition.
In 2018, he has won three gold medals in two consecutive year at the Malta International Violin & Bow Competition.
In 2019 he award the honorary title of Technology Star of the China Musical Instrument Association Production.
