Nicolas Perrin
Nicolas Perrin obtained a diploma in violinmaking from the Mirecourt violinmaking School in1987, and after teaching a year in this one, he joined the workshop of Etienne Vatelot.
He left Rue Portalis in 2003, having spent 3 years as head of the workshop.
In 2004, he opened his own workshop in Boulogne-Billancourt on the outskirts of Paris andthe same year, he was appointed «Expert près La Cour d'Appel de Versailles» and becamefull member of EILA «Entente Internationale des Maîtres Luthiers et Archetiers d'Art» (TheInternational Association of violin and bow makers).
Since 2012, he became member of the«Syndicat Français des Experts Professionnels».
In 2013, delegate for France and in 2016,Treasurer of EILA.Nicolas Perrin has devoted himself in particular to the appraisal, restoration and theadjustment of some of the most prestigious instruments, played by both soloists andmembers of renowned orchestras.
He is also regularly invited to give conferences abroadand master classes. Recently he won “the Luthiers' Special Prize” at the 1st MirecourtInternational Violin and Bow Making Competition for a cello.
